Description
Product Features
STORY: Gnomes work at night in various places doing acts of kindness, helping humans out by doing odd jobs and putting things in order. It is not sheer coincidence that the word gnome itself is derived from Kuba-Walda, which means "home administrator" or "home spirit" in the ancient Germanic language. Another variant of their name transĀlates as "to put in order" or "do odd jobs" - with or without an apron. If they are treated well, they keep an eye on our livestock, crops, orchards, gardens, and even many matĀters in our homes. Of course, these special little beings attract "meanies", who like to catch them, which is why gnomes try to do their good deeds when not seen.

Company Details:
Jim Deacove started making co-operative games for his own family and was encouraged by friends to make more. The Deacove family was and is no different from others. Sharing toys, helping mom and dad and being kind to others are values taught in all homes. To find games which help reinforce such sharing attitudes, however, was very difficult. Thus, Jim and Ruth felt the need to create some. In 1972, the "hobby" became a small business. The games are still made in small quantities, as a labor of love. For 40 years plus now Family Pastimes has used eco-friendly materials in making of their games. They use 100% recycled pasteboard, water based glues, non-toxic paints on the wooden pieces, soy-based and latex inks on recycled papers, corrugated containers from recycled papers, recyclable shrink film and even take care to pack shipments with reused materials that secured from local retailers.
