This selection of Stockmar watercolors is based on the natural graduation of the twelve-part color-circle, in accordance with Goethe's 'theory of colors'. The Farbkreisfarben (colour-circle paints) are watercolors based on Goethe's color-circle. They include the primary colors red, blue and yellow and possess high spectral purity and transparency. With three color-circle colors, the complete color-circle can be created. They can be used in all usual ways and are suitable for all known watercoloring techniques. Harmonious intermediate gradations and boundary-less color blending are also possible when using the wet-on-wet technique. Stockmar watercolors are ideal for transparent painting. The color tones have been chosen so that they can be mixed to yield all intermediate shades without losing their brilliance and intensity. Mixed with white, the watercolors can be used for non-transparent painting.
Stockmar Watercolor Paints have been tried and tested in art education, at school and kindergarten. These non-toxic paints are long-lasting and remain completely water soluble when dry.
